Because it really is!
Events and Pictures In honor of World Ocean Day, here is a poem by Colin The ocean churns, the ocean sprays, Birds shall ride her wild waves. The ocean splashes the wild shore And then pulls back and splashes some more. The ocean takes a sailor named Kip, And drags him away from his seaborne ship. The rudder makes the water spray As the ocean takes its prisoner away. The ocean whips the rocks in the bay, Please excuse me, but by the way; All of thee, please come to see, The enormous power of the sea.
Thanks Team Cape Cod
Thanks to the people that participated in our World Ocean day 2009 beach cleanup! We cleaned East Sandwich Beach and Boardwalk Beach. We found tons of stuff: gigarette butts, plastic bags, napkins and glass. Yikes! Here are some pictures of the crew. we really appreciated your spending time with us cleaning up one of Cape Cod's natural wonders. Listen to mom's interview on Nautical Talk with Captain Lou.

Sandwich Montessori: Hosts The Ecosavvykid and Jamie
On May 6th, Colin and Jamie spent some quality time with the Sandwich Montessori School on Cape Cod. The message, "Be Green This Summer" (to see the presentation click on the slide). The kids at the school shared some great ideas with Colin about how they reduce, reuse and recycle their home items. The school itself promotes being aware of their environment and is connected to one of our favorite CSA's Coonamessett Farm.
Here they are before the talk...Jamie being a goof ball!

The kids were awesome and they showed their appreciation by sending Colin thank you notes and drawings, which he was thrilled with!
